Akinlolu O. Ojo, MD, MPH, PhD, MBA, is the associate vice president for clinical research and global health initiatives at the University of Arizona Health Sciences and a professor of medicine in the UA College of Medicine – Tucson with a joint appointment as professor of health promotion sciences in the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.
Tying it all together for start up success
Alan Nelson is heading the Predictive Health Analytics Initiative that aims to change the paradigm in healthcare from treating late stage disease to early diagnosis and preventive therapies that are cost-effective. He served as the Executive Director of the Biodesign Institute at ASU and holds professorships in Bioengineering and physics. He is the founder and CEO of three companies, the most recent being VisionGate, the innovator of the LuCED lung cancer early detection test. VisionGate was awarded the start-up of the year award at the recent Governors’ celebration of innovation. Alan has a PhD in Biophysics from Berkeley, holds 66 issued patents, and has published over 100 scholarly papers in biomedical imaging.

Michelle Ann Wells, RAC works in Regulatory Affairs at WL GORE and has
spent her career navigating the maze known as the FDA.
Her 20 year career includes working on the regulatory teams of Schein (Steris/Watson), Zila, The Tech Group, Bard (Impra), Medicis, and Regulatory Compliance Consulting Services. Outside of Arizona, Michelle has worked with Proctor & Gamble, Dey (Mylan), Inale (Nektar), and Pfizer.
